We know you've heard it before, but seriously, this time expect a revolution in camera tech for smartphones by the end of this year.
Sony just announced their new, layered CMOS camera sensor. For us non-techies, it means less energy consumption, faster image taking and higher pixel density, weighing in between 8 and 13 megapixels.
The camera also employs Sony's new RGBW technology -- in addition to the old Red Green Blue pixel sensor, the company added white, ensuring ultra-sensitivity in low-light situations. The future tech still uses the same signal transfer as well, making updates easy and seamless.
What we have here is the future, and your coveted iPhone 5 lens.
