Using a Cell Phone in North Korea Now Punishable by Death

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for the poor, pathetic people of North Korea...
The country is holding a 100-day-long "mourning period" for the late clown/dictator Kim Jong-il. Part of the festivities include a cell phone moratorium, and anyone caught using their phone "will be branded as 'war criminals' and punished accordingly," The Telegraph reports.
When it comes to punishing its people, North Korea doesn't mess around. The offender will either be executed or sent to a labor camp for an indefinite period (which is worse?), and the government doesn't just send the perpetrator -- they also ship off the person's children and parents.
Yeah, this is the same government that delved out 6 months in the labor camps to those citizens it felt didn't cry enough at Kim Jung Il's funeral.
Fortunately, less than 5 percent of North Korea's horribly impoverished population own cell phones to begin with, so the government is going to have to find another way to keep its labor camps full.
